How much alcohol should you serve at your wedding?

How much alcohol should you serve at your wedding?

The general rule of thumb is you should allow one drink per person per hour. Be sure to keep your guest list in mind when considering these ratios. Some families are heavy drinkers and some families barely drink at all. So your ratios may not meet the standard ratios.

Wine- 4 glasses per 750 ml bottle
Liquor- 18 servings per 740 ml bottle
Beer Keg- 165 servings per keg
If you are lucky enough to find a venue that allows you to provide your own alcohol you can save big in this area. A great way to save some cash on this area is to provide a signature cocktail. That way you do not need to buy a variety of alcohol and you can just serve one or two basic drinks. It is also a great way to incorporate the drink selections into your wedding theme.
Here are a few examples of good signature drink possibilities:
coladas:
cosmopolitans:
margaritas:
mojitos
sangria
sidecars
Another option is to have a wine bar. They don't have to be very expensive wines.
You can display them with the different names of each and or a wine menu and it will be a cute addition to your bar selection!
